I’ve been dreaming of creating a Pass The Mic podcast for a few months now: a space where artists, booking agents, and recording engineers can share their stories, talk about the people who inspire them, and engage in unfiltered conversations. After sitting with this idea for a while, I’ve decided to bring it to life and finally launch a podcast!
What will a PTM podcast sound like?
Like the rest of the content on the blog, the podcast will focus on sharing the stories of my guests — on their own terms. This means unedited conversations with musicians, music promoters, photographers, and more. I’ll also talk about some of my favorite new releases and play tunes from Minneapolis and beyond.
One of the biggest inspirations for a Pass The Mic podcast has been discovering other amazing women-produced and inclusive podcasts like Angry Grrrl Music of the Indie Rock Persuasion, Good As Hell, and The Grey Estates Podcast. Discovering so many new voices through these pods has been a huge motivation for me to launch my own podcast to elevate the people making music a more positive space.
When can I listen to the podcast?
One of the biggest reasons why it’s taken me so long to launch a podcast is not having the time or resources to make it a reality. If you’re excited about a PTM podcast and want to help support it, you can check out our Patreon page! You’ll find exclusive benefits at our Patreon like early access to podcast episodes and bonus audio. Contributions to the Patreon campaign will allow us to produce podcast episodes, buy equipment like microphones and editing software, and most importantly pay our contributors!
My goal is to have the podcast up-and-running by the end of the summer, so stay tuned for episodes in the next few months!
I want to be a guest on the PTM podcast!
